The short version: Pala keeps your matches on your device. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics. We never collect, sell or transmit your personal data — the only place your data travels is the direct connection between your own iPhone and Apple Watch.
Overview
Pala (“the App”) is a padel match scorekeeper for iPhone and Apple Watch, developed by Moobytes (“we”, “us”). We respect your privacy and have designed Pala so that your data stays with you.
This policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have. By using Pala, you agree to the practices described here.
What data Pala handles
Pala stores all of its data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers, and Pala does not require you to create an account.
- Match data: scores, the format you choose (best of 1/3/5, golden point or advantage), optional player or team names you type in, serve and side, match duration, and your match history. This is stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch using on-device storage (SwiftData and the app’s local preferences).
- Player names: any names you enter for players are saved on-device only, so you can quickly re-select them for a future match. You can remove a saved name at any time.
- App settings: your preferences (such as appearance and default match format) are stored locally on your device.
We do not ask for, and the App does not collect, your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or any advertising identifier.
Health & HealthKit
Health features are optional and off until you turn them on.
- If you enable Health tracking, Pala records each match as a workout (workout type, duration, active energy/calories and — with an Apple Watch — heart rate) and writes it to Apple Health on your device.
- This data is stored by Apple Health on your device under your control. Pala reads workout statistics only to display them inside the App during and after a match; it is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never shared with third parties.
- You can grant or revoke Pala’s Health access at any time in the Apple Health app under Sharing > Apps, or in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.
Sync between devices
If you use Pala on both an iPhone and an Apple Watch, match data syncs directly between those two devices using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. This is a direct device-to-device connection over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi between your own devices and does not pass through any server operated by us or by a third party.
Sharing & third parties
We do not share, sell, rent or trade your data with anyone. Pala contains no third-party advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no social-media trackers.
If you choose to share a match result yourself — for example, exporting a match summary image or text to another app — that content is handed to the app or person you select, at your initiative. We are not involved in and do not receive a copy of what you share.
Analytics & tracking
Pala does not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies, and does not track you across other apps or websites. Because the App does not track you, it does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Your choices & control
- Health: turn workout tracking on or off in Pala’s settings, and manage permissions in the Apple Health app at any time.
- Match history: delete individual matches from within the App.
- Saved player names: remove any saved name from the player picker.
- Everything: deleting the App removes its locally stored data from that device. Workout data already written to Apple Health is managed by you in the Health app.
Retention & deletion
Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep it. Since we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on a server. To remove your data, delete matches within the App or delete the App from your device. Workouts written to Apple Health are removed via the Health app.
Children’s privacy
Pala is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal data, it presents no specific privacy risk to children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a feature. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected in the App or its App Store listing where appropriate.
